Starfucker / STRFKR - "Bury Us Alive"

Judging from what I've heard so far and what I know is coming, this is going to be a fantastic year for Portland music. And now, Starfucker are back as the family periodical friendly STRFKR. It's been a while since I've seen them live, but even before all the name changes they definitely knew how to get a crowd moving. Just imagine what they'll be like with a couple more spazzy hook-filled singles. If the rest of Reptilians is as good as "Burry Us Alive"(mp3), this could be their breakout year.

Update: Looks like if you head over to Polyvinyle you can buy the mp3 version of the album right now. Sweet! I love instant gratification.

The Local Cut blog does a nice job summarizing the bands recent history.

Awmercy, finally listened to "Bury Us Alive." I don't think it's "my style" at all, yet I found myself liking it and it makes me curious to hear more from them. Didn't like the vocals at first, but they're growing on me. I definitely dug the music right away... pretty, atmospheric, and dreamy!

Perhaps this is for fans of Passion Pit who wish his voice was deeper and as mellow as this...

Some other tracks off Reptilians if you are like me and "Bury Us Alive" is not enough.
