2010 QuickCrit Music Survey

It's nearing the end of 2010 and it's time to share what music you've listened to and loved. This year's survey asks about your favorite 2010 albums and gives you room for comments and to list your favorite tracks off the album. The survey also asks you for the five songs you loved the most. Just like the past few years, the results will feature your comments, so make them sharp and pithy.

Please feel free to share the survey with your music-loving friends or post it where those friends might find it.

The survey closes Sunday, December 12th.

2010 QuickCrit Music Survey is closed. Thanks for your submissions.

Just looked over our top 10 from last year and it appears to have held up well. I still like all of those albums.

Did you read Paste's Top 50 yet? It's really funny how little I agreed with it, particularly because I like Paste. I thought you'd enjoy the fact that Gaslight didn't make it on their list.. at all! WTF? They even had the audacity to put Black Keys at the bottom... your general thoughts?

I usually save reading the lists until after I have solidified if not submitted my top 10.

A couple times in the past I've compared the QuickCrit list to some of the other major lists in order to see which one was the most similar. I doubt I'll do that this year due to time, but it usually is pretty fun to see what is and isn't on the various lists.

I like the QuickCrit list because it is made up of just the favorites of friends and friends of friends. And since everyone is limited to choosing their personal top 10, there aren't albums that are just chosen to represent certain genres or demographics. A dub or chill wave album won't make the list unless at least a few people really love it. And then it is probably worth checking out.

Done! I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that I was trying my best to ignore our cranky son this morning.

I respect your method. Normally I'd be afraid of possibly getting influenced/swayed, but this year I feel like my Top 10 is pretty set (apart from ranking) so reading other publications' lists at this point is really just for fun/arguing about with friends. Maybe we can discuss your thoughts on major lists later at some point, I'm always curious.

I just read the NME's Top 75 (you might dig it, one of your fav. bands is in the top 10)... phew, that one was less offensive than Paste's (IMHO), yet I still haven't seen Gaslight ranking anywhere on a list... sacrilege! Nor Wolf Parade, but hey, I'm actually 100% alright with that :)

All the top tens consolidated in one place... kinda interesting: http://features.metacritic.com/features/2010/music-critic-top-ten-lists-best-of-2010/

The anticipation is building!

When do results plan on being posted?! I too have a few last-minute 2010 album reviews I feel I must get in before the "best of" lists go live...

The results will be posted in the next few days, so you better get your reviews up or hold them until afterward.
