Ted Leo - "The Mighty Sparrow" (single)

Ahh, I love killer first singles off upcoming albums. "The Mighty Sparrow" has plenty of raditude and now I can't wait for the new record. But hey, you don't have to take my word for it. You can listen for yourself to the awesomeness here while I get ready to shoot an obnoxious "I told you so!" in your face. Considering the fact that I usually see Ted Leo about 16 times a year, chances are I'll see you at one of those tour dates. And judging from the track alone, Ted Leo is still very much the fucking man. Has he ever disappointed anyone you know? 'Cuz he sure as hell never disappoints me. Ditto for the Pharmacists.

In honor of this joyous day, here is my Top 5 Ted Leo Tracks for your listening pleasure:
5) "Under The Hedge"
4) "Bridges, Squares"
3) "Counting Down The Hours"
2) "Little Dawn"
1) "Heart Problems"

Honorable mentions: "Dial Up," "Hearts Of Oak," and "Timorous Me."

So many. It's tough. He's been a favorite of mine since Chisel.

Heard from someone today how his new album sucks... well, relatively sucks. I'm hoping they were just drinking the haterade instead as I haven't heard it yet!

Ha. It definitely is different, but I think that could be a good thing.

As a fan of Ted Leo and cover songs, have you checked out You Ain't No Picasso's?

I'm sorry Awmercy, but you're just gonna have to try and throw me a coupla names of fav. Ted Leo songs. That list was hard to make for me, I keep fearing I left something out.

Holy schnikes! Thanks for that link :) I cannot wait to hear them all, I'm really intrigued by The Replacements, Springsteen, Pretenders and Lauren Hill ones. I loved his "Since U Been Gone" Kelly Clarkson. I love this guy!

Oh, and I may be 34 years late on this... but Ted Leo's songs are so Thin Lizzy-esque, why am I only figuring this out? Lo and behold, I find "Little Girl In Bloom" on this list :)
