Like a Southern White Stripes, the album is a mix of guitar, fiddles, banjos, stomps, horns, an occasional washboard, and some old mono field recordings. There are some slow songs with some good Southern gothic lyrics, but most of the album is a rootsy rocker. - JT
33. A Place To Bury Strangers - Worship
This band ruled my stereo all year long. Imagine if The Cure, My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus & Mary Chain had a child and named it TOTAL ROCK EXPLOSION. I drank the kool-aid big time with these guys and loved every minute. - Max D

Where did your Waves of Fury stack up!?
Sadly, it did not make the cut. I think one other person had it on their list. Then again, it came out pretty late in the year and they haven't toured the US yet as far I know.
It still love it and highly recommend checking it out if you liked Jonathan Fire*Eater, the Make-Up, or Delta 72.
Damn, never heard of any of those. Have you checked out The Men? Super garage-rocky, I think. I heard amazing things, but I haven't gotten around to it.
Ha. Yeah. Delta 72 and the Make-Up are 90s bands. Jonathan Fire*Eater became the Walkmen once they broke up and got a new singer.
I'll probably kick off the new year with a review of Waves of Fury. Should be a good way to see if I can get back into regular writing.
